SAM TONKIN
Sensei Sam Tonkin started his Ju-Jitsu at the age of four under his father Professor Samuel Tonkin. Sam graded for his black belt in 1978 and his 1st Dan in 1981. He was awarded his 7th Dan at the last UNJJ congress hosted in Sun City, South Africa in 2006. Sam is the Technical Advisor of Jikishin Ju-Jitsu International and is head of the organisation in South Africa. He is Vice President of the South African Ju-Jitsu Council and the UNJJ representative for South Africa. He is actively involved in promoting Ju-Jitsu in South Africa and reaching into other African countries. Sam was instrumental in the establishment of the Mauritius Jikishin Ju-Jitsu Association in March 2006.
